A Passion for Detail


Since childhood I have been inspired by nature and the environment around us. I craft all the pieces individually, developing and enhancing the natural character of the wood.

 

Each individual piece whether it is a hand carved spoon or bespoke table  has its own unique character brought to life in my outdoor woodland workshop.

 

I studied Arboriculture and passed my RFS Cert Arb at Merrist Wood near Guildford. After many years of climbing trees, and working in industrial rope access. Saddened by reducing good timber to firewood and wood chips.

 

Filled with the inspiration to create and make individual pieces from the timber accumulated from arboricultural operations.

 

Inspirational ideas coming from my travels around the world and visiting its remote landscape scenery.

 

My studio and workshop is located at our house, please call to arrange an appointment to avoid the disappointment of me being out.

Our Story

Humble Beginnings

 

116 was born in 2007 as a way of using the tree waste created by my Arboricultural Contracting Business.

 

Our ethos at 116 Artisan Woodworking, is to create unique Artisan pieces enhancing the character of the wood, bringing it to life. Spoon carving, Tables, Timber interior features. 116 Artisan Woodworking uses traditional methods in the production of our sculptural pieces, also in the creative process of working with our valued clients to bring their ideas to life.

 

Every one of my projects, whether residential or commercial, is fully guaranteed.
