Humble Beginnings

116 was born in 2007 as a way of using the tree waste created by my Arboricultural Contracting Business.

I wanted to create unique Artisan pieces bringing the character of the wood to life.  Spoon carving, Tables,Timber interior features. 116 Artisan Wood working uses traditional ,methods in the production of our sculptural pieces, also in the creative process of working with our valued clients to bring their ideas to life.

Every one of my projects, whether residential or commercial, is fully guaranteed.

A Passion for Detail

Since childhood I have been inspired by nature and the environment around us. I craft all the pieces individually and develop the natural character of the wood.

Each individual piece whether it is a hand carved spoon or bespoke table  has its own unique character brought to life in my outdoor woodland workshop.

I studied Arboriculture and passed my RFS Cert Arb at Merrist Wood near Guildford.

After many years of climbing  trees, and working in industrial rope access. I was saddend by reducing good timber to firewood and wood chips.

This inspired me to create and make individual pieces from the harvested timber.

Inspiration comes from my travels around the world and visiting its remote landscape scenery.

My studio and workshop is our house, please call to arrange an appointment to avoid the disappointment of me being out.

Thank you for visiting the site.
